Arras to Copenhagen

So that was my first year of the Via Francigena. Just 5 relatively easy days (the max. was just over 60km and always less than 1000m climbing, though it was >50% off-road). It was a good way to start and gave time to explore the places I stopped at and feel more in touch with the world around me. If I did it again I’d probably do a little bit more each day, but I really had no idea how difficult the routes would be.

I chose Arras as the last stop for this year because it is really well situated for transport. It's less than an hour from Arras to Paris. You just get one of the frequent TGV trains.

I was heading to Orly which is the hardest to get to (Charles de Gaulle is a direct TGV). For Orly, you need to change in Gare du Nord and then again at Antony which with a big bike bag is a bit of a pain. If you can I'd go for Charles de Gaulle.
